課程概述

The purpose of this class is to introduce you to the many facets of the private enterprise system and of the businesses that operate within it. Since it is the first course in business, it is impossible to teach you "everything you always wanted to know about business or International business but were too afraid to ask." Nevertheless, It is anticipated that through your learning experiences in this course, you will gain a basic and critical understanding of what business/enterprise is all about and its connotation with the international perspectives. It is hoped that this improved understanding will increase your appreciation of the business/enterprise in modern society and will assist you in planning both your academic program and future career in International Business.

課程目標

GOALS OF THE COURSE:
In order to achieve the purpose above, following goals have been set for your learning experiences in this course:
1.to acquaint you with the enterprise system - the foundation upon which most business of the world nowadays is built; and contrast it to other possibilities;
2.to acquaint you with the environment involved with starting a business and with the language of business, and consequently international or global business.
3.to expose you to the various functional areas of business - management, managing people, marketing, and financial issues, --and how these areas are interrelated in the area of international business;
4.to stimulate you to evaluate and develop business plans and see how you can appreciate and affect the international business system, in the hope that you will someday fit into that system very well

課程要求

The final grade will be determined by a composite evaluation of the student's performance in such exercises as: examinations, chapter quizzes, homework, participation in classroom activities and discussion. Students are expected to participate both in class and on the CEIBA online.

Team Empirical Assignment (TEA*)	30%	TEA is a portfolio of 6 types of businesses by conducting empirical research in order to supplement to chapters and to integrate findings with your fellow teammates. There are 7 components to fulfill: i) ENTrepreneurship and business formation, ii) PROduction and value chain, iii) INNOvation iv) targeting customers and MARketing, v) etaining human resources (HR), vi) FINancial scheme, and vii) INFOrmation acquisition.
